Offering
COSTA
MESA, Calif., January 7, 2004
Resources Connection, Inc. (Nasdaq: RECN), an
international professional services firm, announced
today that in order to consolidate its brand across
all professional service lines, The Procurement Centre,
a wholly-owned subsidiary of Resources Connection, has
been renamed Resources Connection. The Procurement Centre
will go to market as the Supply Chain Management Practice
within Resources Connection.
Resources
Connection acquired The Procurement Centre, a leading
professional services provider of supply chain management
solutions, in October 2002. During the past fourteen
months, The Procurement Centre has leveraged the infrastructure
of Resources Connection to expand its business beyond
the Texas region and will continue this expansion under
the Resources Connection brand.
The
past year has provided us with the opportunity to integrate
the team of professionals from The Procurement Centre
into our overall business model, said Donald B.
Murray, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Resources
Connection. The brand consolidation to Resources
Connection is the next logical step in the evolution
of our relationship and the expansion of our supply
chain management services. We will begin to leverage
the international presence of Resources Connection to
offer our growing client roster this value-added offering.
Operating
as part of the Resources Connection brand will allow
The Procurement Centre to be fully integrated into the
Company and provide its best-in-class supply chain management
services to a wider audience of companies. The two brands
have already worked together on several high profile
accounts.
We
are pleased that the process has evolved so smoothly,
said Tracy B. Stephens, Chief Executive Officer of the
Supply Chain Management Practice of Resources Connection.
Becoming a part of Resources Connection has afforded
us the opportunity to increase our reach beyond our
primary regional targets. We look forward to capitalizing
on the national and international opportunities that
the Resources Connection brand will bring to our attention.
